Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: July 16, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to everyone who uses Armored Hosting. It is part of our Terms of Service. Our goal is a safe, reliable, lawful platform. We enforce this AUP to protect our users, our infrastructure, and third parties.
1. Prohibited content and activity
You may not use the Service to host, transmit, or facilitate:
- Illegal content or activity under any applicable law.
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexually exploits or endangers minors. We report CSAM to the appropriate authorities.
- Malware, ransomware, phishing, credential harvesting, or content designed to damage, deceive, or gain unauthorized access to systems or data.
- Unsolicited bulk email or messaging (spam), or violation of anti-spam laws (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR/ePrivacy). Email sending via ArmoredPost must comply with our sending guidelines.
- Content that infringes intellectual property, or that is defamatory, harassing, or that incites violence.
- Distribution of others’ personal or confidential data without a lawful basis.
2. Security and network abuse
You may not:
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network without authorization, or breach security or authentication measures.
- Launch or participate in denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks, or generate load intended to disrupt the Service or third parties.
- Use the Service to proxy, relay, or anonymize traffic for abusive purposes, or to circumvent usage limits or access controls.
3. Resource use
The Service uses scale-to-zero and shared infrastructure. You may not use resources in a way that degrades service for others, including sustained excessive CPU, I/O, storage, or bandwidth beyond your plan’s published limits, cryptocurrency mining, or running workloads unrelated to hosting your own sites and email. Where your usage materially exceeds your plan’s limits or degrades service for others, we may throttle, request that you upgrade, or suspend the affected workload.
4. Email and deliverability
Mailboxes and sending must comply with recipient-consent requirements and standard anti-abuse practices (valid opt-in, honored unsubscribes, accurate headers). We may rate-limit, quarantine, or disable sending that harms deliverability or that generates spam complaints.
5. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and may remove content, throttle, suspend, or terminate accounts, with or without notice depending on severity and legal obligations. We may preserve and disclose information where required by law or to protect the Service and its users. Repeat or egregious violations may result in permanent termination.
6. Reporting abuse
Report suspected abuse to abuse@armoredgate.com. Please include URLs, timestamps, and any supporting detail so we can act quickly.
